Also featured is a Jongmanskas - this was traditionally used by the young men - they were shorter that the huge wardrobes used by the head of the family that had to accommodate ladies long garments, trousers and shirts).

Dining Room/ Kitchen:
Dining Room with seating for 8 persons. The Dining Room table is made of quality Yellowwood and Stinkwood combination. This type of tapered leg is usually associated with "cottage" furniture. A small "Meerkas" has been build in (the sort you would find in Holland and replicated frequently in the cape) It is basically a small cupboard which was built into the wall. This offered the storage capacity of a normal cupboard and saved floor space area. The "Meerkas" built into the Cape Colonial is old and genuine.
