Belvidere Manor offers enchanting whitewashed cottages built to reflect the simple Georgian lines of Belvidere House, built by Thomas Henry Duthie in 1834. The cottages are situated amongst tree-lined lanes over 2 hectres of pretty gardens, and offer views of Knysna's lagoon and the surrounding hills. Perfect for honeymooners, families and older couples, Belvidere Manor allows you to be independent whilst enjoying the facilities of a four star hotel.

Our Garden cottages are either single or double storey, with a wide verandah and balcony and overlook the gardens, through to the lagoon. Pretty flower tubs welcome you up the path to your verandah and garden benches allow you to relax and enjoy the views.

Enter the front door and step into a spacious living room, with two comfortable sofas, a fireplace, television and DVD player. Ceiling fans cool the room in the summer. Our cottages are decorated to reflect the colourful gardens, and feature solid wood furniture from the local area. Wifi access is available throughout the property. A fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove and microwave, toaster, coffee percolator, iron and ironing board allows independent catering, and delightful farmers markets and delis in the surrounding area offer delectable produce!

Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
The cottages have two double en-suite bedrooms. The master bedroom has either a king or queen-size bed whilst the second bedroom offers twin beds. Fine linen and duvets ensure comfort, whilst electric blankets are fitted for cold winter nights. Heaters and ceiling fans are in each bedroom. Double storey cottages offer a separate shower and bath in each bathroom, whilst the single storey cottages offer showers over the baths in each bathroom.

Living Areas:
The Estate consists of a main Manor House and 28 individual tastefully decorated cottages - all with fully equipped Kitchens, spacious lounges and usually Two En suite bedrooms (Only 7 cottages have one bedroom).

Outdoor:
Each cottage also has it's own private verandah and adjacent covered parking space.

A salt-water chlorinated swimming pool 15 x 5m is situated overlooking the lagoon and guests can enjoy a game of tennis on two tennis courts situated a short walk away Own rackets should be provided. We offer boat trips on the lagoon for up to 6 people and reservations can be made at Reception.

Our cottages are serviced daily by our hotel staff.

Secure parking for one car is available under cover adjacent to each cottage, but arrangements would have to be made for trailers/boats etc. Our property is monitored by CCTV, and on-site night patrols.

The great thing is though, that should any guests prefer to have meals served - Breakfast is available daily in the Manor house, and their famous English Style Pub called "The Bell Tavern" serves a great selection of light meals. In high season they also have an A La Carte Restaurant called Carolines.
